Privacy Notice

Effective October 12, 2026

1. About This Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Packet Perfect, Inc. (“Packet Perfect,” “PP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when adults create accounts, use Packet Perfect, generate instructional materials, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with the service.

Packet Perfect is an adult-facing educational and instructional web application. It is designed to help users create differentiated instructional materials, small-group instructional plans, student activity pages, progress-monitoring materials, answer keys, and related educational materials.

This Privacy Notice applies to Packet Perfect’s handling of information through the service and related account, support, billing, communication, and website functions. Certain service providers and third parties may have their own privacy practices, which are addressed in later sections of this Notice.

Packet Perfect is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. Students are not intended to create Packet Perfect accounts or independently submit their own information through the service.

2. Our Privacy Approach

Packet Perfect is designed around data minimization. We aim to collect and use only the information reasonably necessary to provide the service, administer accounts, support users, protect the service, and meet applicable legal obligations.

For student-related instructional use, Packet Perfect is designed to need information about what a student needs to learn rather than a detailed identity profile of the student. Users should provide only the limited instructional information Packet Perfect requests and should not provide unnecessary personally identifying or highly sensitive student information.

Packet Perfect does not describe minimized student information as guaranteed “anonymous” information. Even limited instructional information may be capable of identifying a student in some circumstances. Our approach is therefore to reduce unnecessary identifying information, restrict what users should submit, and further minimize or sanitize information before external AI processing where technically feasible and appropriate.

Packet Perfect is not intended to sell student information, sell account-holder information, use student information for targeted advertising, or provide student information to advertisers.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Adult Account Information

When an adult creates or maintains a Packet Perfect account, we may collect information such as:

  • first name and last name;
  • email address;
  • password or other authentication information, handled through Packet Perfect’s authentication systems;
  • an optional phone number, if the user chooses to provide one for permitted communications or service reminders;
  • account status, subscription status, and applicable plan information;
  • records of acceptance or reacceptance of Packet Perfect’s Terms of Service, including the applicable Terms version and acceptance date/time; and
  • account preferences and communication preferences.

3.2 Student and Group Instructional Information

Users may enter limited information needed to design instruction or organize instructional groups. Depending on how Packet Perfect is used, this may include:

  • a student’s first name and last initial;
  • grade level;
  • instructional group membership;
  • academic or instructional goals and objectives;
  • skill levels;
  • instructional performance or progress information;
  • instructional accommodations, supports, or response needs; and
  • other limited information genuinely necessary to design or generate the requested instruction.

3.3 Generated Materials and Service History

Packet Perfect may store materials and records created through use of the service, including generated packets, student activity pages, instructional plans, progress-monitoring materials, answer keys, repairs or replacements, and related generation history or technical metadata reasonably necessary to operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the service.

3.4 Subscription and Payment Information

Packet Perfect requires a payment card at account registration, but does not charge it for the free trial allowances. Stripe processes payment-card information. Packet Perfect receives limited billing information, such as Stripe references, card brand and last four digits, subscription status, plan and packet balances, and transaction status. Packet Perfect does not store full payment-card numbers.

3.5 Technical and Security Information

Packet Perfect may collect login events, timestamps, browser/device information, IP addresses, error information, security events, and operational service metrics needed to operate and protect the service. These records are not intended to profile students for advertising.

3.6 Communications and Feedback

If a user contacts Packet Perfect, requests support, provides feedback, responds to research outreach, or communicates with us in another way, we may collect the contact information and contents of that communication. Participation in optional feedback or research outreach is voluntary.

3.7 Optional Google Drive Connection

If a user chooses to connect Google Drive, Packet Perfect receives and stores the email address of the Google account the user selects and an authorization from Google that allows Packet Perfect to save files the user chooses to save. This authorization is stored in encrypted form. Packet Perfect does not receive or store the contents of the user’s Google Drive.

4. Student Information and Data Minimization

Packet Perfect is designed to minimize the amount of identifying student information used by the service. Where a student identifier is needed, Packet Perfect permits a first name and last initial (for example, “Sam R.”) rather than requesting a full student name.

Packet Perfect is intended to collect instructional information that helps the service understand what a student needs to learn or what supports are useful. Where possible, users should describe instructional needs rather than provide medical, disability, or diagnostic labels that are not necessary to generate appropriate instruction.

Packet Perfect is also designed to further minimize or sanitize student-related instructional information before sending information to external artificial-intelligence services when identifying information is not necessary for the requested generation. For example, a student name appearing in instructional text may be replaced with neutral language such as “the student.”

Student names and initials are not sent to external AI providers. Packet Perfect replaces them with temporary labels such as “Student 1” and keeps the link between a label and a student only inside Packet Perfect. Teacher-only lesson plans and progress-monitoring records may show a student’s first name and last initial; student worksheets do not show names or initials.

Packet Perfect may use privacy screening intended to detect certain prohibited personally identifying or sensitive information and stop an affected process before external AI transmission. Such screening is an additional safeguard and cannot guarantee detection of every possible form of prohibited information.

5. Information Users Must Not Provide

Packet Perfect does not need and users must not enter, paste, upload, or otherwise submit unnecessary personally identifying or highly sensitive student information, including:

  • a student’s full last name or full legal name;
  • date of birth;
  • Social Security number;
  • school, district, state, or other student identification number;
  • home address;
  • personal phone number or personal email address;
  • parent or guardian names or contact information;
  • photographs or images that identify the student;
  • race or ethnicity;
  • gender or sex;
  • religion;
  • immigration or citizenship information;
  • insurance or Medicaid information;
  • financial information;
  • usernames, passwords, or other authentication credentials;
  • medical records, medication information, or mental-health records;
  • unnecessary medical, disability, or diagnostic information;
  • complete disciplinary records;
  • transportation information that could identify or locate the student; or
  • other information unnecessary for Packet Perfect’s instructional purpose.

5.1 No Complete IEPs or Student Records

Users must not paste, upload, or submit complete IEPs, evaluations, eligibility reports, medical records, disciplinary records, cumulative student records, or other complete educational or student records. Users may provide only the limited instructional information genuinely necessary for the requested instructional purpose. Goal text and other instructional text should not contain prohibited identifying information.

5.2 Privacy Blocking

If Packet Perfect detects information that appears to contain prohibited student information, Packet Perfect may stop the affected process and require the user to remove or revise the information before continuing. Packet Perfect may also send a privacy or security notice to the established account email address. Such a notice should not reproduce the prohibited student information itself.

6. How We Use Information

Packet Perfect may use information collected through the service to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, and secure Packet Perfect;
  • create the instructional materials, progress-monitoring materials, visual materials, and other outputs requested by the user;
  • maintain user accounts, instructional groups, generation history, and hosted packet libraries;
  • administer free packet allowances, subscriptions, billing status, and account access;
  • provide customer support and respond to user questions or requests;
  • send account, service, security, privacy, billing, renewal, cancellation, download, and deletion-related communications;
  • screen for prohibited personally identifying or sensitive information and enforce Packet Perfect’s privacy safeguards and Terms of Service;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, security threats, and misuse of the service;
  • troubleshoot technical problems, monitor service reliability, and improve Packet Perfect’s functionality and quality;
  • conduct optional user feedback or product research when users choose to participate;
  • comply with applicable law, legal process, and lawful governmental requests; and
  • protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of Packet Perfect, its users, service providers, and others.

6.1 Product Improvement and Training

Packet Perfect does not operate a general-purpose artificial-intelligence model that is trained on student instructional information submitted through the service.

When Packet Perfect evaluates service quality, reliability, usage patterns, or product performance, Packet Perfect intends to use aggregated, de-identified, or operational information where practical rather than unnecessary student-identifying or student-instructional content. For example, Packet Perfect may analyze how often a type of generation requires repair without needing to use a student’s identity or instructional goal for that analysis.

Packet Perfect will not intentionally use student instructional information to train a Packet Perfect general-purpose AI model.

7. Artificial Intelligence and External AI Processing

Packet Perfect uses third-party artificial-intelligence services to assist in generating some instructional content, visual content, and related materials.

Packet Perfect is designed to send external AI services only information reasonably necessary for the requested generation and to further minimize or sanitize student-related instructional information before external transmission when identifying information is not necessary for the requested task.

Third-party AI services process the instructional and visual content necessary to generate requested materials. Packet Perfect seeks arrangements that limit provider use of customer information for model training; the exact retention and model-training treatment depends on each provider's applicable terms and account configuration. We do not promise that AI providers retain no data.

AI providers and models may change as Packet Perfect evolves. Rather than relying solely on model names in this Privacy Notice, Packet Perfect intends to maintain current information about relevant service providers or subprocessors separately so users and organizational reviewers can identify the companies currently involved in providing the service.

Users must not submit prohibited student information on the assumption that Packet Perfect’s sanitization or screening will remove it. Users remain responsible for following Packet Perfect’s student-privacy requirements before submitting information.

8. How We Share Information

Packet Perfect does not intend to sell student information or account-holder personal information. Packet Perfect does not intend to use student information for targeted advertising or provide student information to advertisers.

Packet Perfect may disclose information to service providers and subprocessors that perform functions necessary to provide, secure, support, communicate about, or administer the service. Such providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their applicable function, subject to appropriate contractual, technical, or other safeguards.

Packet Perfect may also disclose information when a user directs or authorizes the disclosure; when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security threats, or violations of law or these Terms; when required by applicable law, subpoena, court order, or other lawful process; or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of Packet Perfect, its users, or others.

If Packet Perfect is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, corporate reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards. Any successor handling covered information remains subject to applicable legal obligations.

Packet Perfect does not authorize service providers to use student information for their own targeted advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.

8.1 Optional Google Drive Saving

When a user connects Google Drive and chooses to save materials, Packet Perfect sends the selected materials and related folder names, such as the school year, book or theme title, and group name, to Google at the user’s direction. Saved materials may include teacher-only pages that show a student’s first name and last initial. Once saved, those materials are held in the user’s Google account and are governed by Google’s terms and privacy policy and by the settings of that account.

Packet Perfect uses information received from Google APIs only to save the materials the user chooses to Google Drive and to show which Google account is connected. Packet Perfect’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Packet Perfect does not sell information received from Google APIs, does not use it for advertising, does not use it to train artificial-intelligence models, and does not allow people to read it except with the user’s permission, for security purposes, or as required by law.

9. Service Providers and Subprocessors

Packet Perfect uses outside service providers for application hosting, databases, file storage, AI processing, payments, and transactional email. Providers receive information appropriate to their functions, subject to applicable agreements and safeguards. Packet Perfect may update its providers as the service evolves.

A “subprocessor” is an outside service provider that processes information on Packet Perfect’s behalf while providing one of these functions.

The following providers have been identified for Packet Perfect's production services. Additional infrastructure and subprocessors may be used by these providers under their own terms.

9.1 Identified Production Service Providers

  • Production database and storage: Render PostgreSQL.
  • Generated packet PDFs and disk snapshots: Render.
  • Instructional AI processing: Anthropic (provider terms and configuration govern retention and training).
  • Visual AI processing: not used at launch.
  • Payment processing: Stripe.
  • Automated/transactional email: Brevo.
  • SMS delivery: Not offered at launch.
  • Analytics/service monitoring: Internal operational and security metrics; no additional advertising analytics platform planned for launch.
  • Optional Google Drive saving (only at the user’s direction): Google.

10. Payments

When a user purchases a subscription, payment-card information is processed by Stripe. Packet Perfect receives limited information needed to administer the subscription and does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers.

Packet Perfect may receive limited information needed to administer the subscription and transaction, such as payment status, subscription or plan information, transaction or customer identifiers, billing status, and limited billing or contact information.

11. Cookies, Logs, and Analytics

Packet Perfect may use cookies or similar technologies that are reasonably necessary to provide account login, session management, security, preferences, and other core service functions.

Packet Perfect does not plan to use advertising pixels or student information for targeted advertising at launch. Operational logs and internal statistics may be used for reliability, security, and service improvement.

Packet Perfect may maintain operational, security, and technical logs reasonably necessary to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the service. These may include login events, timestamps, IP address or similar network information, browser or device information, errors, system events, and security-related activity.

Packet Perfect may also maintain internal operational statistics such as numbers of packets generated, generation failures, repairs or replacements, feature usage, account activity, and similar service-performance information. Packet Perfect does not intend to use these operational statistics to create advertising profiles of individual students.

Where practical, Packet Perfect intends to use aggregated, de-identified, or non-student-identifying information for product analytics and service improvement rather than unnecessary student instructional content.

12. How Long We Keep Information

Packet Perfect retains information for different periods depending on the type of information, the user’s account status, the purposes for which the information is needed, and applicable legal requirements.

While an account and applicable subscription are active, Packet Perfect may retain account information, student and group instructional information, generated materials, and related service history as reasonably necessary to provide the service.

While a subscription is active, Packet Perfect retains instructional records and generated materials to provide the service. After a paid subscription ends, including a subscription whose paid access remains suspended because a required payment failed, the user has a ninety (90) day download-only period to sign in, view, and download generated materials and records. Accounts that never purchase a subscription follow the same process after ninety (90) days without a sign-in. Signing in or purchasing a subscription restarts the ninety-day period. Packet Perfect sends email reminders thirty (30) days and seven (7) days before scheduled deletion. At the end of the period, Packet Perfect deletes the user’s hosted packet library and stored student, group, and instructional information. The account itself is not deleted, so the user may sign in and subscribe again. Users may also delete individual items or their accounts at any time.

Packet Perfect may retain limited account, transaction, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, and legal records for longer periods when reasonably necessary or required by law.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups. Render keeps database point-in-time recovery history for 3 days. Render retains database exports it creates for 7 days, while export copies downloaded from Render remain until their holder deletes them. Render takes disk snapshots every 24 hours and keeps them for at least 7 days, without a guaranteed exact maximum. These backup copies are not individually purged upon account deletion and expire according to these retention practices.

Google Drive connection information is kept until the user disconnects Google Drive or deletes the account, at which point Packet Perfect deletes it and asks Google to revoke the authorization. Materials already saved to the user’s Google Drive are not affected.

13. Cancellation and Account Deletion

13.1 Subscription Cancellation

Cancellation stops future subscription renewal but does not ordinarily delete the account. Paid access generally continues through the prepaid term. After the paid term ends, the ninety-day download-only period described in Section 12 applies.

Packet Perfect may send service and account-related emails, including deletion reminders thirty (30) days and seven (7) days before scheduled deletion. SMS messaging is not offered at launch.

13.2 Delete My Account

Packet Perfect provides an in-product Delete My Account option. Users can also contact Packet Perfect if they need help.

Before final account deletion, Packet Perfect will inform the user that deleting the account will also delete the user’s hosted packet library and stored student, group, and instructional information, subject to applicable legal and technical retention requirements. Packet Perfect will provide or direct the user to an opportunity to download generated materials the user wishes to keep before deletion is confirmed.

After the user confirms account deletion, Packet Perfect removes associated active account information and hosted materials, subject to the retained records and backups described in Section 12. The ninety-day download period does not delay a user-requested deletion.

Users may also contact Packet Perfect through the applicable privacy or support contact if they have questions or difficulty exercising account-deletion options.

Deleting an account also disconnects Google Drive and removes the stored Google connection. It does not delete materials the user previously saved to Google Drive.

14. Security

Packet Perfect uses or intends to use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed.

Packet Perfect uses safeguards including account authentication, restricted access, encrypted network transmission, student-data screening, and encryption of student records, goals, notes, packet content, and stored PDFs. Certain operational metadata, including teacher email addresses, group names, and packet titles, may not be encrypted at rest. No security measure guarantees complete protection.

Access by Packet Perfect personnel to customer or student-related information should be limited to circumstances in which access is reasonably necessary for legitimate service operation, customer support, troubleshooting, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or another authorized business purpose.

No online service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security. Packet Perfect does not represent that its systems are completely secure, impossible to breach, or free from all security risk.

Packet Perfect may take reasonable steps to investigate and respond to suspected unauthorized access, security incidents, or misuse and will provide legally required notifications when applicable.

15. Children and Age Restrictions

Packet Perfect is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old. Children and students are not intended to create Packet Perfect accounts or independently submit their own personal information through the service.

Packet Perfect does not intentionally solicit personal information directly from children through child-created accounts or child-directed use of the service.

If Packet Perfect learns that a child has created an account or directly provided personal information contrary to Packet Perfect’s age and account rules, Packet Perfect may disable the account, restrict access, and delete the information as appropriate, subject to applicable law.

This age restriction is distinct from the limited student instructional information that an adult user may lawfully and appropriately provide for educational purposes. Student-related information provided by an adult user is governed by Packet Perfect’s student-data minimization, privacy, security, use, sharing, and retention practices described in this Notice.

16. Educational and Student Privacy

Packet Perfect is designed for educational and instructional use, including use by adults who work with students and may have professional, contractual, school, district, or legal obligations concerning student information.

Users are responsible for determining whether their use of Packet Perfect is permitted by applicable employer, school, district, organizational, professional, or legal requirements and for providing only information they are authorized to provide.

Packet Perfect’s individual Terms of Service, Privacy Notice, or individual subscription do not substitute for a school or district approval, data-protection agreement, data-sharing agreement, procurement process, or other organizational authorization when one is required.

Packet Perfect’s student-data practices are designed around minimization, restricted use, limited sharing, and reasonable safeguards. Packet Perfect does not intend to sell student information, use student information for targeted advertising, or provide student information to advertisers.

Packet Perfect may update its educational privacy practices as necessary to comply with applicable federal or state student-privacy requirements, contractual obligations, or changes in the service.

17. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on the information involved and applicable law, users may be able to review or update account information, correct inaccurate information, change or remove an optional phone number, manage optional communication preferences, request account deletion, request access to certain personal information, request correction or deletion, or exercise other applicable privacy rights. Users who connect Google Drive may disconnect it at any time in My Account or through their Google account settings.

Packet Perfect provides an in-product account-deletion option. Other privacy requests may be sent to sue@mypacketperfect.com.

Student-related instructional information is ordinarily entered and managed by the adult account-holder. Requests concerning that student information will generally be handled through the applicable adult account-holder or authorized educational organization unless applicable law requires a different process.

Packet Perfect may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of a person making a privacy request before providing access to, correcting, or deleting information. Packet Perfect will respond to valid requests within the time required by applicable law.

Some requests may be limited or denied where an exception applies, the requester cannot be appropriately verified, Packet Perfect is legally required to retain the information, or applicable law otherwise permits or requires a different result.

18. Email, Feedback, and Marketing Communications

18.1 Service and Account Communications

Packet Perfect may send service-related communications reasonably necessary to operate or administer the user’s account, including security notices, privacy alerts, billing or payment notices, subscription and renewal information, Terms or policy notices, support communications, cancellation notices, and reminders concerning download or scheduled deletion of stored materials.

18.2 SMS Not Offered at Launch

Packet Perfect does not offer SMS notifications at launch. Account, billing, security, and download reminders are handled through email where implemented. Packet Perfect may introduce optional SMS services in the future with appropriate separate permission and updated disclosures.

Providing a phone number remains optional. No SMS marketing or reminder consent is requested at launch.

18.3 Feedback and Research

Packet Perfect may invite users, including people who use the free packet allowance but do not purchase a subscription, to provide feedback about their experience. Participation is voluntary.

Permission to contact a user for optional feedback or research by email or telephone will be requested separately from mandatory acceptance of the Terms of Service. Feedback permission does not itself constitute consent to promotional marketing.

18.4 Marketing

Packet Perfect offers a separate optional, unchecked registration checkbox for promotional emails, including product updates, offers, teaching resources, and feedback invitations. Marketing emails will include applicable opt-out methods. Mandatory account, billing, and security communications do not depend on marketing consent.

Packet Perfect will not intentionally include student names, student instructional information, IEP-related information, or other student information in marketing or promotional communications.

19. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have privacy rights under applicable state law. Depending on the law and circumstances, these rights may include rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, portability, information about certain disclosures, or the ability to opt out of certain uses or disclosures.

Packet Perfect does not intend to sell personal information or student information or use student information for targeted advertising. If applicable law provides an additional opt-out or other right relevant to Packet Perfect’s actual practices, Packet Perfect will provide the required method for exercising that right.

At launch, privacy requests may be submitted through Packet Perfect’s designated privacy email address. Packet Perfect may require reasonable verification of identity or authority before acting on a request. The in-product account-deletion process is available separately for users who wish to delete their own Packet Perfect account.

If applicable law provides a right to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request, Packet Perfect will provide an appropriate appeal process as required by that law.

20. Changes to This Privacy Notice

Packet Perfect may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes in the service, information practices, service providers, legal requirements, security practices, or other legitimate operational needs.

When Packet Perfect makes a material change to this Privacy Notice, Packet Perfect will provide reasonable notice through the service, the account email address, or another appropriate method as required by applicable law.

The current Privacy Notice will identify its effective date or version. Historical or prior versions may be retained as reasonably necessary for compliance and recordkeeping.

A Privacy Notice describes Packet Perfect’s information practices and does not treat user consent as the legal basis for every processing activity. Where applicable law requires specific consent or permission for a particular activity, Packet Perfect will seek that consent or permission separately as appropriate.
